Hello, my dear tablehopper family. Just over a week ago was my big bash, A Bohemian Sunday at the Savoy Tivoli: A Renewal Party from tablehopper. In my 24 years of hosting parties, that event was over-the-top juicy, resonant, and certainly the most meaningful one to me. What a love blast of OG bohemian SF spirit! We raised the roof! Everyone who attended looked AMAZING and was so vibrant and happy. I’m incredibly grateful to everyone who showed up, dressed up, turned it up, and supported the event in so many ways. Your joyful vibes and high energy were needed by all of us! We have such an incredible community. Thank you for the best 18th birthday party for tablehopper!

You can read the full recap in today’s chatterbox (where today’s subject line will make more sense—tablehopper received a special commendation from San Francisco Board of Supervisors President Aaron Peskin and the City of San Francisco!), and alllll the fab photos from the event are HERE! Also: don’t miss the fantastic Dine & Dish segment from KRON4 anchor Vicki Liviakis which aired this past weekend about the party! Jubilance!

That event was an absolute beast to plan, produce, host, and load out. I’m still pretty whupped. It took as much out of me as it overflowed my heart, and that’s a whole helluva lot. I was so happy to take a break from post-party logistics and headed up to Mendocino last Friday afternoon for a glamping 4/20 weekend with Cannescape at Mendocino Grove. Such stunning grounds, I can’t wait to share pics. By the time Saturday morning rolled around, the skies were clear and lovely, the air was so fresh, and our cannabis happy hour with The Herb Somm and dinner from Solomon Johnson were pure delight. What a great crowd—weed peeps are the best. More soon, but it really was the restorative break I needed. I slept 10 hours each night up there, praise indica! Inhale, exhale. Yay, weed camp!

I got home after a three-hour drive on Sunday evening, and I’m still catching up on so much news and stories and leads and hundreds of emails I couldn’t get to the past couple weeks, so I’m sending this a day late and one issue to everyone at once.

I also had some attending to do with Fortuna, who had a visit to the vet yesterday—she’s doing well, just a small hiccup. But my little queen takes precedence over my self-imposed deadline! Since I could use some more time to catch up with my damn self this week, I’m just going to give you some quick hits on recent news. Don’t miss today’s updates about the opening of Minnie Bell’s Soul Movement, Mestiza, the return of Horn Barbecue, the POC Food & Wine Festival, and more after my lengthy party recap. Keep scrolling!

I was sorry to be out of town for the reopening of The Stud this past Saturday, what a helluva party, but I’m fired up to head over there this Sunday evening (starting at 7pm), when Rich King relaunches The Sunday Situation, with special guest Carrie On Disco—those two were supposed to have a party together back in April 2020 at the former Stud on Harrison, but we know what happened to that gig. Rescheduled! LOL. In fact, the last twirl I had on the former Stud’s dance floor was at The Sunday Situation, awwww, so this will be a full-circle moment. I know a Sunday evening can be rough for some of you, but this party is gonna be worth any sleep deficit. I can’t wait to buy my first drink and bust some moves. VIVA SF!

More SF moments you shouldn’t miss: our longtime chanteuse Veronica Klaus will be back in town and performing at Martuni’s in honor of her 60th birthday on Thursday May 2nd and Saturday May 4th. Get your ticket now (via the link above) for an assuredly special evening. The last time she was in town was fantastique! Don’t miss it.

Happy Passover to all who celebrate, you can refer to our recent post for special meals (including one at Perbacco tonight).

XO 💋
~Marcia

A Bohemian Sunday at the Savoy Tivoli: A Renewal Party from tablehopper Was Truly Epic, Thank You!

On Sunday April 14th, 2024, I was fortunate to host my dream SF party, one of my favorite events in my 24 years of event hosting. It felt like a wedding party for me/us and my true love, SF! This over-the-top and only-in-SF event was designed to celebrate 18 years of tablehopper and to thank all of you amazing supporting subscribers for the recent renewal of your tablehopper subscriptions! Mwah! Thank you for changing my life, and securing the future of my publication with your support. When I said I was going to throw you a thank you party, I meant it!🥂

If you want to jump to allllll the glorious party pics from Molly DeCoudreaux and Gooch, here’s the album!

I received some lovely observations about the party from guests that I want to share:

“Thank you for creating a space to celebrate and connect.”

“Thank you, it was wonderful to feel optimistic about the future with the community showing up to support art and culture.”

“It was such a special, living legend, loving, and community uplifting congregation.”

“Truly, it was a spectacular feat of fiesta, and the sense of positivity and togetherness you so thoughtfully cultivated was deeply felt by all.”

Yeah, I think we all needed a festive moment of communal celebration and coming together! We raised our glasses to SF spirit and community and queerness and bohemia and North Beach and to the historic Savoy Tivoli (since 1907)! It was an honor to throw this party in this iconic and recently reopened North Beach location. The Savoy Tivoli has been an epicenter of the City’s Bohemian scene for decades, from the Beats to being the original home of Beach Blanket Babylon, and performers including Sylvester, Jefferson Airplane, Sheila E., Robert Palmer, and the Ramones have all played there.

It’s also the home of so many wild memories for anyone who has lived in SF for a while—I loved hearing stories all night! For many others, I kept hearing it was their first time at the bar, and I’m glad she was making a great first impression (all the beautiful florals by dear friend Christine Farren of Foodwise certainly added to her many charms).

First, I want to thank our sponsors who played such an important part in this party—without their generous support, my ambitious vision for this event would not have been fulfilled! Deep gratitude to El Tesoro, Free Spirits, Highland Park, No.3 Gin, Old Potrero, and Select Aperitivo for enabling me to throw the wild SF bohemian party of my dreams!

I was so happy to introduce guests to a Venetian Spritz, courtesy of Montenegro’s Select Aperitivo (it’s what I drank when I lived in Venezia, Italy, when I was 19—so, just a few years ago, ha!), and I wanted to feature iconic cocktails of San Francisco, including a beloved Boothby (with local Hotaling & Co.’s Old Potrero six-year-old whiskey, topped off with Domaine Carneros brut) and a Tommy’s Margarita (gracias, El Tesoro tequila). We paid homage to Daniel Hyatt with his Southern Exposure with No.3 Gin (get the recipe for that crushable cocktail here), and we tipped our cap to Marco Dionysos with his Cunningham, made with Highland Park 12-year-old whisky. Additionally, we offered a non-alcoholic Negroni and Tommy’s Margarita, which both got high marks from guests (including Supervisor Aaron Peskin!), thanks to Free Spirits and their n/a gin, vermouth, tequila, vermouth rosso, and Milano (which I love).

I’m so thankful I brought on the talented team at West Bev Consulting to oversee the custom bar program and service for the party. I wanted to highlight hella delicious, made-in-SF craft cocktails, and I knew they’d over-deliver on the level of quality I had in mind. I couldn’t have pulled off this event without them, from their help with sponsorships to designing the menu! There were a lot of moving parts, and they rocked it. Deep bows, Christopher, Nora, and Steph! They’re your dream team for any events you’re working on.

The VIP hour was pure magic: we offered flutes of Laurent-Perrier Champagne La Cuvée on arrival, and poured Domaine Carneros 2020 Brut Cuvée and Cuvée de la Pompadour Brut Rosé (j’adore!) paired with Tsar Nicoulai Estate White Sturgeon caviar on the patio. It was my kind of bubbles and caviar heaven.

There were also select drams from Highland Park (including their cask strength and 18-year-old whisky), while Camper English (Alcademics) was helping guests custom-bling their ice.

We definitely got the party started with tastes of El Tesoro tequila paired with a spiced chocolate, arriba! VIPs also noshed on luxurious bites of imported salumi and cheeses generously provided by Lettieri & Co., including Leoncini mortadella and Angelo + Franco burrata topped with Monte Pollino premium olive oil. Chef’s kiss! Grazie mille to my paisano Francesco Covucci of Il Casaro for having his team slice up all those meats and cheeses for us—it was a job!

The VIP crowd was a swirl of culture creators, SF and North Beach icons, media guests, tablehopper Patrons and Super Patrons, beloved community pillars, nightlife and restaurant and bar industry friends and fam, local characters, and more, all dressed in boho and colorful finery. The best kiki! When you live in San Francisco for 29 years, and write about it for two-thirds of that time (and go out and party it up for alllll of that time), let me tell you, you get to know and love some incredible people along the way.

San Francisco Board of Supervisors President Aaron Peskin (and longtime North Beach resident, for 35 years!) was going to be making a special commendation for tablehopper during the VIP hour, but the document was hilariously locked away inside Caffè Trieste! (You can’t make these things up.) But, I think it was fate, because by the time the proclamation was freed from captivity, we decided to roll in Supervisor Peskin’s presentation to the start of our evening’s entertainment (and we had a full house to hear his wonderful dedication).

A very special moment for me as a San Franciscan. Thank you for the commendation, Supervisor Aaron Peskin. Photo by Gooch!

I was blown away with the proclamation—I had no idea how much he was going to say about my work, and how strongly his words were going to resonate with everyone in the room. It was such a thoughtfully written recognition of tablehopper, and my work in service of my love for SF. The party was already feeling so magical, but this moment really added some deep significance to the celebration. I am so grateful. Thank you, President and Supervisor Peskin—you already had my vote for Mayor!

It was time to start the entertainment, a lineup of queer burlesque and racy performances, led by faaaabulous emcee Dottie Lux (gawd, I loved her bacon strip and bawdy banter all night—thank you, love!), and the smoldering and shimmering Paige Turner and bodacious Bionka Simone (ooooh, dangerous curves!) burned us up with their hawt numbers! Meowza! Va-va-voooom! Thank you for owning that stage, you gorgeous babes!

Mucho amorrrrr to Stanley Frank Sensation for the spot-on musical styling for our evening’s boho journey. Here’s a link to the first two hours of his psychedelic San FranDisco Bohemian Revival mix for the party!

We also hosted a raffle to benefit local charity North Beach Citizens! Mil gracias to Paula Tejeda of Chile Lindo, the best raffle hype girl, and to Paul Gallo for doing fashion portraits of our $50 and $100 donors! Everyone helped us raise $1,000 with their generous donations!

It was so fun to give away a slew of swell prizes: a special engraved ceramic bottle of Highland Park 15-year-old whisky (a rare one!), a bottle of Old Potrero, a vintage Carol Doda topless puzzle (guess who that was from?), two tickets to Dear San Francisco, two tickets to the Healdsburg Wine & Food Experience grand tasting, a gift certificate from Il Casaro, a bunch of gift certificates from Tony Gemignani’s North Beach businesses (Giovanni’s, Tony’s, Capos, and Dago Bagel), a Free Spirits no-and-low mixology pack and bar toolkit, and a Ceybon mixed case of their mushroom aperitifs! Thank you for the generous gifts! So many winners!

To round out our abundant aperitivo spread of Southern Italian meats and cheeses from Lettieri & Co., I picked up slabs of Liguria Bakery focaccia, plus we had ’nduja and sliced baguette provided by Tony Gemignani’s Toscano Brothers bakery, and I had to offer their Italian rainbow cookies for everyone to enjoy (one of my favorite North Beach treats). Thanks to Feed for providing our vegan and g/f treats, which included Calabrian chile tahini dip, gluten-free seed crackers, and fennel. Tremendous gratitude to tablehopper editorial assistant Savannah Leone Bundy for managing the catering service for the party, everything was so fabulously presented! (We so appreciated the lovely platters and tableware, XO to Anna Weinberg for the zhuzh!)

VIP guests brought home a gift bag with Acquerello biscotti (only the best!), an issue of Zoetrope: All Story magazine, delicious new nut mixes available via Mangia! from Clif Family, a Highland Park Magnus sample, a snazzy Sipsmith swizzle stick, the cutest Laurent-Perrier pink pen, an exclusive tablehopper offer from Ceybon, and promo drink cards from downtown bar Persona! Thank you to everyone who contributed to the gift bag.

To Slyde, Prince Wolf and Marc Sanchez on the door, and our volunteers: you were the most amazing day-of-event production team, I love you!

Many thanks to Tito Avila and the Savoy Tivoli team for letting me throw this private event in your iconic space, it was a full-circle moment for me considering it’s where I had one of my first drinks in San Francisco (fake I.D. in effect back in the early ’90s!). SF is so happy the Savoy Tivoli is back!

Huge thanks to KRON4 anchor Vicki Liviakis for the fantastic Dine & Dish segment that aired this past weekend about Bohemian Sunday! You gotta see it. The segment really captured the spirit of the party, and showed our San FranDisco is alive and glamorous and always shines bright as a disco ball—we are a community of VIBRANCY and LOVE.

It was an honor to host you and hug you and celebrate how damn lucky we are to live here together. Here’s to SF!

With all my love 💋 and gratitude,
~Marcia

Minnie Bell’s Soul Movement Opens on Fillmore Street, a Poignant Homecoming for Third-Generation Fillmore Native Fernay McPherson

Gather your flowers, Fernay! Photo: © tablehopper.com.

Last Thursday, I took a break from the post-party madness and hopped over to the ribbon-cutting for chef-owner Fernay McPherson’s Minnie Bell’s Soul Movement in the Fillmore. What an uplifting moment to see this third-generation Fillmore resident fulfill her longtime dream of opening a brick-and-mortar restaurant in her beloved neighborhood. It’s a deeply meaningful and optimistic homecoming for this Black woman–owned business, and it was so moving to see her celebrated by her community and family, and honored by so many city officials and organizations.

Cheers to Fernay’s grandmother Lillie Bell and her great-aunt Minnie. Photo: Citizen Film.

McPherson worked with the City’s Dream Keeper Initiative, which contributed funding for tenant improvements and offered pro bono services through its nonprofit partners La Cocina, San Francisco Housing Development Corporation, and Citizen Film, who supported her with lease negotiations, construction management, marketing, and more. Love to see it.

I’ve been watching Fernay’s business grow and evolve over the past 19 years, from her early pop-up days to opening her kiosk in the Emeryville Public Market, and it was an honor to interview her for my On the Fly podcast back in 2020. Her inspiring story is one of great resilience, resolve, and belief in herself—you can listen to her talk about her journey in this compelling episode.

Minnie Bell’s iconic rosemary fried chicken. Photo: Citizen Film.

I’m so excited to sit down very soon to a plate of her trademark rosemary fried chicken, incredible mac and cheese, brown butter cornbread (featured in the hopper holiday gift bag one year!), and a glass of bubbly from a Black-owned winery, which she will be highlighting along with Black-woman owned wines on her wine list. She has added new items to her lineup, like vegan fried chicken made with oyster mushrooms, vegan mac and cheese, gluten-free roast chicken, banana pudding, and a Friday fish fry special. Sunday brunch will be coming soon, how perfect. I’ll be reporting back on all of it after I return for dinner!

Minnie Bell’s dining room and mural of Fillmore and Turk Streets in 1966. Photo: Citizen Film.

Her new restaurant has opened in what was previously Bruno’s Pizzeria, with a bar, booths, and wonderful murals of her grandmother Lillie Bell—who migrated from Port Arthur, Texas to San Francisco in 1962 during the Great Migration—and her great-aunt Minnie, who both inspired young Fernay to cook, and the name of her business is in homage to them. There’s also a floor-to-ceiling, black-and-white photo of the intersection of Fillmore and Turk Streets in 1966, a reminder of what the Harlem of the West used to look like, and a vision to maintain as the revitalization of this neighborhood happens business by business. Come out and support! Open Tue–Sun 4pm–10pm. 1375 Fillmore St. at Ellis.

Mestiza Now Open in SoMa, Offering a Plant-Forward Rainbow of Filipino and Southeast Asian Flavors

A selection of dishes on Mestiza’s plant-forward, Filipino and Southeast Asian menu. Photo: Melissa de Mata.

Back in October of 2023, I broke the news about the reopening and reconcepting of Deanna Sison’s Mestiza, a plant-forward, Filipino and Southeast Asian fast-casual restaurant that has just opened in SoMa in the former Primo Patio space. Mestiza (meaning “woman of mixed heritage”) was previously on Bryant Street, and closed during the pandemic, but with this new location, it has had a big conceptual overhaul. Sison is a longtime SF restaurateur behind the nearby Little Skillet, Victory Hall, Lady Victory, and farmerbrown.

You can read my previous post for more details on the background of the project and concept, but here are some updates: executive chef Syl Mislang (of mixed Filipino and Mexican heritage) has created a daily menu of takeout-friendly small plates (pulutan), bowls, and wraps at lunch and early dinner. Dishes include crispy sweet potato lumpia with pineapple chili jam (so good!); calabasa coconut curry with aji verde; rainbow salad with tamarind vinaigrette, red and green cabbage, vermicelli, roasted black rice, garlic chips, roasted jalapeño, jammy egg, spiced pepitas, red radish, and green onion; and a mushroom and tempeh sisig bowl (meat lovers will find a braised pork adobo wrap with garlic rice, shaved cabbages, pickle red onion, chopped kale, and roti wrap).

The welcoming patio and mural by Cheyenne Randall. Photo: Melissa de Mata.

Starting in May, Mestiza will also offer reservation-only, communal Kamayan-style feasts on its welcoming patio. You’ll also find oat milk-based soft-serve ice cream, with rotating toppings such as ube brownies, pinipig (toasted rice), and pandan polveron (Spanish-style shortbread). Craft beer, local wine, and tropical-inspired wine/soju cocktails are available, as well as creative non-alcoholic options. Open Tue–Sat 11:30am–8pm. 214 Townsend St. at 3rd St.

Another Opening in SoMa: KAIYŌ Restaurant & Bar

The colorful dining room of the new KAIYŌ Restaurant & Bar in SoMa. Photo: Travis Mocker.

Also in SoMa, KAIYŌ Restaurant & Bar has opened on the ground floor of the Hyatt Place Hotel, where KAIYŌ Rooftop bar is located. The project is from John Park of Brick x Brick Hospitality Group (KAIYŌCavanaWhitechapelNovela), in partnership with Parvathy Nair of William Duff Architects.

This latest location will offer a more-elevated experience compared to the KAIYŌ in Cow Hollow, with an all-new menu of Peruvian Nikkei dishes by chef Alex Reccio. The format is focused on family-style dining, with dishes created to be enjoyed as a group or pair. New dishes include modern sashimi (kobujime madai, ikura, gooseberry purée, dill, cilantro oil, arima sansho, black pepper) and a ginger pork chop (coffee-ginger brined bone-in pork chop, roasted baby purple potatoes, miso butter, smoky chimichurri, cracked cancha, tapioca crisp).

There is also a sushi counter helmed by KAIYŌ’s new executive sushi chef Kenji Sawada (formerly PABU Izakaya and Ozumo), with a Nikkei sushi menu featuring à la carte sashimi and nigiri options (including plant-based sushi and rolls). Danny Louie is Brick x Brick Hospitality’s new bar director, and has assembled a menu of six new cocktails focused on Japanese whisky, rum, gin, and Peruvian pisco. You can also take an elevator directly up to KAIYŌ Rooftop for a nightcap.

The room is full of vibrant colors reminiscent of Peru, with vivid patterns and colors, with some Japanese elements as well, including shou sugi ban charred wood from Japan (an 18th century Japanese technique for preserving wood with fire) at the restaurant entrance and in the private dining room. Open Tue–Thu 5pm–12am, Fri–Sat 2pm–12am, Sun 2pm–10pm (kitchen closes at 10pm daily, and on Giants game days, the restaurant will open earlier). 701 3rd St. at Townsend.

Todo el Día Opens in Noe Valley from the Tacolicious Team

Dishes on the Todo el Día all-day menu. Photo: Nicola Parisi.

Back in May 2023, I wrote about the Tacolicious team opening a project in Noe Valley, and they just opened their new, all-day restaurant, Todo el Día. There’s a seasonal breakfast menu (served 8am–11am), including breakfast tacos, huevos divorciados, seasonal quiches, espresso drinks, and juices, and an all-day menu (served 11am–8pm), featuring salads, family-style rotisserie chicken (they’re taking advantage of the space’s equipment from when it was Village Rotisserie), a variety of tacos (different from Tacolicious!), tortas, beer, wine, and more. I’m so glad their tasty MF chicken is back, I loved ordering their dinner set. Plus: there’s a colorful patio to hang out on. 4063 24th St. at Castro.

Horn Barbecue Returns This Friday, Reopening in Matty’s Old Fashioned in Old Oakland

Horn Barbecue’s legendary brisket (and ribs). Photo: © tablehopper.com.

After suffering a devastating arson event five months ago, Horn Barbecue has left its original Mandela Parkway address, and Matt Horn’s AH2 hospitality group has made the decision to reopen in their recently opened Matty’s Old Fashioned restaurant in Old Oakland. The Horn Barbecue menu of meats by the pound will return: brisket, chopped beef, pork spare ribs, smoked turkey, burnt ends, and oxtails (a Sunday special), as well as à la carte beef ribs, hot links (original, jalapeño cheddar), and smoked sticky wings (from the Matty’s menu). Sandwiches (including that wild brisket chopped cheese) and sides will also be available.

The full Matty’s Old Fashioned menu (including the burger, smoked bologna sandwich, fish sandwich, and milkshakes) will be available exclusively through mobile app orders (UberEats and DoorDash). There is also a full bar now, offering cocktails along with beer and wine. Horn Barbecue reopens this Friday April 26th; hours will be Tue–Sun 11am–10pm. 464 8th St., Oakland.

One more piece of news: coming next month to a space next to Kowbird in Oakland will be the Horn Barbecue Shop, a new express outlet.

Copas Closes in the Castro

Damn, these street-style tacos will be missed. Photo: © tablehopper.com.

Was sorry to receive an email from the Copas team that they were closing the doors to their Castro restaurant on Saturday April 20th. I’ve enjoyed so many delicious tacos, cocktails, mezcals, and chef collab dinners there, so it’s tough to lose this tasty spot in the neighborhood. The email says, “We will remain active at pop ups and festivals, and of course Chef Julio will continue offering catering and curated tasting experiences.” Hasta luego. 2223 Market St. at Sanchez.

We also need to pour out a Cosmo for Beauty Bar, which has closed after 25 years in the Mission. 2299 Mission St. at 19th St. [Via SFGATE]

POC Food & Wine Festival Hosts Its Inaugural Affair in May

by Savannah Leone Bundy

From Thursday May 2nd to Sunday May 5th, the first-ever POC Food & Wine Festival is happening on both sides of the Bay. The three-day production will have a series of events taking place at Ciel Creative Space in Berkeley and Four One Nine in SF, and was established as a means to create community space for cross-cultural collaborations and all to come together to celebrate people of color in the food, wine, and hospitality industries.

The weekend kicks off early on Thursday the 2nd, with an opening meal at Four One Nine in San Francisco, featuring a multi-course, family-style dinner from chef Reem Assil (of Reem’s California) that includes beverage pairings from Terah Wine Co. (the maker of an absolutely fabulous orange falanghina) and Palestinian-owned Terra Sancta Imports, with non-alcoholic options available as well. Tickets to the family meal (6pm–9pm) are $200 and include all food and beverages.

The main event takes place on Saturday the 4th. An all-day affair, the Berkeley-based portion of the festival boasts The Main Dish: a culinary experience with art, music, retail vendors, immersive photo ops, and 15 local chefs of color offering tastings, along with wine and beverage pairings from over 20 brands (1pm–5pm); the Cuffin’ All Things R&B lounge party (5pm–7pm); a CBD wine tasting featuring CBD bites and beverages by Maya Botanicals and an immersive sound bath by Astrologik (5:30pm–6:30pm); and the Brown Is Beautiful after-party—a dance party/fashion show with bites and cocktails (7pm–10pm).

A preview of tasty treats by Tarts de Feybesse. Photo courtesy of @pocfoodandwine.

Featured chefs and restaurants of the Main Dish include East Bay staples like Cafe Colucci, known for their Ethiopian comfort foods like shrimp tibs and kitfo; critically acclaimed chefs Reem Assil, Emily Lim (Dabao Singapore), and David Yoshimura (Nisei); bakers and pastry experts Azikiwee Anderson (Rize Up Bakery), Monique Feybesse (Tarts de Feybesse), and Audrey Tang (Batik and Baker); and a host of Bay Area heavy hitters and up-and-coming players. Beverage brands include wine, beer, and spirits makers like McBride Sisters, Dokkabier, Laughing Gems, Old Hillside Bourbon, Free Range Flower Winery; N/A options Bawi, Narra, and Abstinence Spirits; and THC-infused Calexo.

Sunday May 5th wraps up with a closing family meal—multi-coursed and family-style from 6pm–9pm—at Four One Nine, presented by Big Bad Wolf’s chef Haejin Chun (co-author of High Times: Let’s Get Baked! The Official Cannabis Cookbook), along with pairings from Black woman-owned, low-intervention wine and cider brand Mad Marvlus. Tickets to this dinner are $200 and include all food and beverages.

Tickets for Saturday’s events are available in an all-access package ($245) or à la carte ($195 for The Main Dish, $75 for Brown Is Beautiful after-party; sound bath and R&B lounge are complimentary to Main Dish and after-party ticket holders), with the option to upgrade The Main Dish to VIP access, which includes express entry, specialty tasting and beverage pairing, and access to an exclusive VIP lounge and special performances.

Although tickets to the family meals are not included in the all-access pass, admission to all events in the POC Food & Wine Festival is being offered on a sliding scale basis from now until Friday April 26th. In an effort to make more room at the proverbial table, festival founders have decided to offer a more approachable rate for those who might need a little break (guests who can swing it are still encouraged to contribute full price). Promo codes INDULGE30 and INDULGE40 will get you 30 and 40 percent off, respectively, when used at checkout.

Thursday May 2nd–Sunday May 5th. 419 10th St. at Harrison, SF and 935 Carleton St. at 8th St., Berkeley.
